ULGA-YP is long established as a leader in the Atlanta area for programs and initiatives that empower the community. More information on annual and ongoing programs is below.

KICK-OFF

At the beginning of each calendar year, we host a kick-off event to get our young professionals excited and challenge our members to show the nation what a real service organization is all about!

DAY AT THE CAPITOL

ULGA-YP hosts an annual event at the Capitol to allow participants to learn what upcoming bills impact them, receive a legislative overview from Georgia representatives and senators and have the chance to meet and advocate on behalf of the issues important to the League.

DREAM CATCHERS

ULGA-YP hosts an annual Dream Catchers Awards Reception, where we present the signature Dream Catchers Award in several categories of scholarships to recent high school graduates. Dream Catchers is the opportunity to help us provide deserving students with funds for college

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE

ULGA-YP provides educational seminars to teens in Atlanta Public Schools (APS). ULGA-YP partners with APS, local churches and community centers for this program to facilitate workshops for middle and high school students.

NATIONAL DAY OF EMPOWERMENT

NDOE is a national effort to engage communities on ways to support minority economics through the patronage of black-owned establishments and entrepreneurial efforts. The event consists of our signature Entrepreneur Bootcamp were participants will receive guidance and training from key leaders in the metro Atlanta business community in workshop sessions on various aspects of business ownership, including business plan development, legal considerations, marketing, and financing your venture.

SUPER SATURDAY

Super Saturday is an event that seeks to enhance the civic and political knowledge of the metro Atlanta community. This signature event is an integral part of the ULGA-YP mission to facilitate civic empowerment and political engagement.

WESTSIDE UPLIFT HEALTH FAIR

ULGA-YP partners with ULGA and ULGA-Guild to host an annual Health & Wellness Day designed to educate the community on issues that impact their health and allow them to receive screenings and social service.

National recruitment effort across the country for young professionals to participate in professional development, philanthropy and civic engagement activities

HOLIDAY SOIRÉE

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals hosts an annual Holiday Soirée. Past sponsors include Remy V. This event provides fine dining and entertainment. Leaders are honored in the Urban League as well as thanks given to those who have partnered with ULGA-YP throughout the year.

MINGLE & SERVE

This community service event takes place in December. Last year, ULGA-YP decorated Big Bethel Villages for the holidays. We participated in singing carols, playing games, and shared in some laughter with the residents of Big Bethel Villages. As volunteers, we acted as servers, decorators and participants in caroling and games with the residents. This is a family-friendly event for all ages.

PROJECT READY YOUTH MENTORSHIP

ULGA-YP partners with ULGA to conduct several programming sessions geared towards empowering and steering our youth to success.

YP FIT CLUB

This program promotes healthy living and encourages members to not only exercise, but also eat healthy foods.

YPEER PROGRAM

YPeers assist the organization in promoting the development and engagement of new YP members by providing one on one interactive relationships that serve to connect new members to the organization. This program is designed to foster a network of support, as well as assist new members and the organization in identifying their responsibilities and the mutual benefits obtained through the new partnership.
